Jesus said, “I am the door”

“I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture.” (John 10:9 ESV)

Jesus described Himself using metaphorical statements, such as this one, “I am the door of the sheep”

Jesus is the door!

Jesus said that He is “the door,” not “a door.” He is the only door by which we may enter and be saved. There is no other way.

So Jesus again said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.” (John 10:7 ESV)

Access to the Father is only through Jesus

“… No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6 NIV)

Jesus is the only mediator between God and man

“For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.” (1 Tim. 2:5-6 ESV)

If anyone hears His voice and opens the door…

“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” (Rev 3:20 NIV)
