“The hand of the diligent will rule, while the slothful will be put to forced labor.” (Prov. 12:24 ESV)

The idle person will suffer hunger

“Slothfulness casts into a deep sleep, and an idle person will suffer hunger.” (Prov. 19:15 ESV)

Poverty will come like a thief to the sluggard

“I went past the field of a sluggard, past the vineyard of someone who has no sense; thorns had come up everywhere, the ground was covered with weeds, and the stone wall was in ruins. I applied my heart to what I observed and learned a lesson from what I saw: A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest—and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.” (Prov. 24:30-34 NIV)

If you aren’t willing to work you won’t eat

“For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat.” (2 Thess. 3:10 ESV)

“The sluggard does not plow in the autumn; he will seek at harvest and have nothing.” (Prov. 29:4 ESV)

The hand of the diligent makes rich

“A slack hand causes poverty, but the hand of the diligent makes rich.” (Prov. 10:4 ESV)
