Doing the will of God

“And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.” (1 John 2:17 ESV)

God’s will is for you to be saved

“This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.” (1 Tim. 2:3-4 NIV)

God’s will is for you to be sanctified (set apart)

“It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality” (1 Thess. 4:3 NIV)

God’s will is for you to thank Him in all circumstances

“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (1 Thes. 5:18 NIV)

God’s will is for you to do good

“For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people.” (1 Peter 2:15 NIV)

God’s will is for you to renew your mind

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” (Rom. 12:2 ESV)

Therefore…

“Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Eph. 5:15:20 NIV)
