Part 1 – Personalizing the promises of God

“For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.” (Heb. 4:12 NLT)

Promises of God are faith activated

Transforming your mind is the process of bringing your thoughts in line with God’s thoughts (2 Cor. 10:5). You do this by personalizing Bible promises, mixing faith with them and confessing them as yours. (Heb. 4:2)

All the promises of God are “yes and amen” (2 Cor 1:20)

  • I possess salvation — I confess Jesus as my Lord

“…if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.” (Rom. 10:9-10 NASB)

  • I possess healing — I confess, "by His scourging I am healed"

“But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed.” (Is. 53:5 NASB)

  • I possess absolute freedom — I confess, "the son has made me free"

“So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.” (John 8:36 NASB)

  • I possess the ability to love everyone — I confess, "the love of God has been poured out within my heart by the Holy Spirit."

“and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” (Rom. 5:5 NASB)

  • I possess lion-hearted boldness in spiritual warfare. — I confess, "the righteous are bold as a lion"

“The wicked flee though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.” (Prov. 28:1 NIV)
