“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” (Gen. 1:1 ESV)

The Devine proportion

The Fibonacci sequence is one of the most famous formulas in mathematics. Each number in the sequence is the sum of the two numbers that precede it. So, the sequence goes: 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, and so on. The mathematical equation describing it is Xn+2= Xn+1 + Xn. It's been called "nature's secret code," and "nature's universal rule." It is said to govern the dimensions of everything that exists large or small. Some rightly call it “the Devine proportion”. You see it everywhere. There are many examples of the Divine Proportion found throughout the design of the universe and everything in it. It’s in every seed, flower, tree, and every living creature.

The Devine Proportions of the human body

The Devine Proportion is found everywhere in the design of the human body. For instance, look at the proportions of your index finger. Each section of your index finger, from the tip to the base of the wrist, is larger than the preceding one by about the Fibonacci ratio of 1.618, also fitting the Fibonacci numbers 2, 3, 5 and 8. By this scale, your fingernail is one unit in length. You also have two hands, each with five digits, and your eight fingers are each comprised of three sections. All Fibonacci numbers! Your hand creates a golden section in relation to your arm, as the ratio of your forearm to your hand is also 1.618, the Divine Proportion.

All things were made through Him

“All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.” (John. 1:3 ESV)

You can see His attributes in everything He has made

“For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.” (Rom. 1:20 ESV)

God made you and granted you life and steadfast love

“Remember that you have made me like clay; and will you return me to the dust? Did you not pour me out like milk and curdle me like cheese? You clothed me with skin and flesh, and knit me together with bones and sinews. You have granted me life and steadfast love, and your care has preserved my spirit.” (Job. 10:9-12 ESV)

Therefore…

“For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.” (Heb. 3:4 ESV)

“My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.” (Psalm 139:15 ESV)
