You must prove faithful

“Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.” (1 Cor. 4:2 NIV)

You have been given a trust

In the above passage the word trust is used. Trust is defined by Webster’s dictionary as, “(1) a charge or duty imposed in faith or confidence or as a condition of some relationship. (2) something committed or entrusted to one to be used or cared for in the interest of another.

You are entrusted with God’s mysteries

“This, then, is how you ought to regard us: as servants of Christ and as those entrusted with the mysteries God has revealed.” (1 Cor. 4:1 NIV)

You must be a faithful steward above reproach

“For an overseer, as God's steward, must be above reproach. He must not be arrogant or quick-tempered or a drunkard or violent or greedy for gain.” (Titus 1:7 ESV)

You must work heartily for the Lord

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.” (Col. 3:23-24 ESV)
