Hungry for Knowledge

“A wise person is hungry for knowledge, while the fool feeds on trash.” (Proverbs 15:14, NLT)

What we take into our minds and hearts matters deeply.

Some say they can watch or read anything and not be affected. But that is a dangerous deception. Just because something no longer disturbs us does not mean it is harmless. In truth, it may only mean that our hearts have grown dull to its influence. It is like the frog placed in warm water. If the water is quickly boiled, the frog jumps out. But if the heat rises little by little, the frog does not recognize the danger until it is too late.

The same happens to us spiritually

When profanity, mockery, or evil no longer trouble our hearts, it reveals a problem. What once grieved us has become normal, and in that dullness, we make room for foolishness.

God calls us to guard our minds carefully

Whatever we feed on becomes part of who we are. The Bible reminds us: “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” (Proverbs 23:7) That is why Paul urges us, “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:5)

Our minds are shaped daily by what we allow inside

If we want to grow in strength, wisdom, and peace, then we must be intentional about what we are feeding on. Only God’s Word provides the truth that refreshes, corrects, and nourishes us.

“For the Lord gives wisdom; from him come knowledge and understanding.” (Proverbs 2:6) May we turn our hearts to His Word today, and allow His wisdom to fill and shape us.
