Fire

When gold is heated in the fire, the impurities rise to the surface and are removed. What remains is more pure, more valuable, and more radiant. The fire doesn’t destroy the gold—it reveals its true worth.

Your faith is tested by fire

“So that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” (1 Peter 1:7 ESV)

Jesus baptizes with the Holy Spirit and with fire

“He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.” (Luke 3:16 ESV)

His Word is like fire

“Is not my word like fire, declares the LORD, and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?” (Jer. 23:29 ESV)

Your works will be tested by fire

“Each one’s work will become manifest… because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done.” (1 Cor. 3:13 ESV)

Reflection

God uses “fire” in many ways in your life. His fire refines your faith, empowers your walk, purifies your heart, strengthens your character, and tests the foundation of all you do. Fire in God’s hands is never meant to destroy you—it is meant to reveal Him in you and through you.

Therefore

Let God’s refining fire do its perfect work in you today. Trust Him in every trial, listen to His fiery Word, and allow His Spirit to burn away anything that hinders your walk.

“When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.” (Isa. 43:2 ESV)
