God is a giver — He gives joy

“In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.” (Psalm 16:11 NASB)

Joy is more than a feeling—it’s happiness, gladness, delight, and deep inner pleasure given by God. Scripture speaks of joy over 150 times, and when words like joyful and joyous are included, the total rises above 200. The command to rejoice appears well over 200 times. Clearly, God intends His people to live in joy.

Good news brings joy:

“Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.” (Luke 2:10 ESV)

Prayer brings joy:

“Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.” (John 16:24 NIV)

God’s approval brings joy:

“Go, eat your bread with joy… for God has already approved what you do.” (Eccles. 9:7 ESV)

Let God’s presence, God’s promises, and God’s approval fill your heart with joy today.
