You May Know That You Have Eternal Life!

“I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life.” (1 John 5:13 NIV)

Complete assurance

God does not want us living in uncertainty or fear about our salvation. We do not have to hope we are saved—we can know. He wants us to have complete assurance.

Our confidence is not based on feelings or performance, but on God’s promise and God’s Word

“And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.” (1 John 5:11–13)

Full assurance is what God invites us into:

“Let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.” (Hebrews 10:22)

Our salvation rests on Christ’s finished work, not our fluctuating emotions.

Therefore

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)

“For this reason I also suffer these things, but I am not ashamed; for I know whom I have believed and I am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day.” (2 Tim. 1:12)

You can rest—not in yourself—but in the One who holds your soul securely.
