When you have questions
“But truly God has listened; he has attended to the voice of my prayer.” (Psalm 66:19 ESV)
It’s okay to ask God questions!
God invites us to come to Him with our questions. When you lack wisdom or need direction about what to do, ask Him. Come boldly, believing that He hears you and will give you the wisdom you need.
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” (James 1:5 ESV)
“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” (Heb. 4:16 KJV)
When you have questions for God
Ask, seek, and knock — “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” (Matt. 7:7 ESV)
Ask with faith — “And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.” (Matt. 21:22 ESV)
Don’t ask selfishly — “You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions.” (James 4:3 ESV)
Ask according to God’s will — “And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.” (1 John 5:14 ESV)
Ask in the name of Jesus — “Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” (John 14:13 ESV)
Therefore
“If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” (John 15:7 ESV)
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” (Phil. 4:6 ESV)
“The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.” (Psalm 145:18 ESV)
