When wondering about food

“And God said, ‘Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed… You shall have them for food.’” (Gen. 1:29 ESV)

God Provides Food

God provided plants and animals for food.

“Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. And as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything.” (Gen. 9:3 ESV)

Receive It With Thanksgiving

“For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving.” (1 Tim. 4:4 ESV)

Don’t Let Food Divide You

Food should never become more important than loving others.

“For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” (Rom. 14:17 ESV)

“Do not, for the sake of food, destroy the work of God.” (Rom. 14:20 ESV)

Therefore

“Food will not commend us to God. We are no worse off if we do not eat, and no better off if we do.” (1 Cor. 8:8 ESV)
