Moving ahead and finding happiness

“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!'” (Matt. 25:21)

Faithfulness always pays off

Within this verse is found the key to moving ahead and finding happiness. It begins with 1) being faithful in a "few” things. After that, you will 2) progress to “many” things. Happiness results from practicing faithfulness, no matter what level you find yourself at. Faithfulness alwayspays off.

God demonstrates faithfulness

“Know therefore that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations.” (Deut. 7:9)

“But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.” (Psalm 86:15)

“Your steadfast love, O LORD, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds.” (Psalm 36:5)

“God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” (1 Cor. 1:9)

We are called children of God

“See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are.” (1 John 3:1)

His kind of love enables us to be called children of God!

There are many different definitions for love, as defined by the world, but the kind of love God has for us is very different than any of those. It makes a way for us, through Jesus, to be called His children! How awesome is that!

God will establish your plans

“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” (Prov. 16:3)

Here is an interesting promise

It begins with a command, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do.”  And then the command is followed by the promise, “and he will establish your plans.”

 It's a great success principle to apply to everything you do

Include God first, and allow Him to help you in every step of your plans. And then allow God to establish them for you.

“But, seek you first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (Matt. 6:33)

“In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path.” (Prov. 3:6)

His compassions are new every morning!

“Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” (Lam. 3:22-23)

Because of God’s great love ….

• We are not consumed! Consumed is definedas: done away with, destroyed, burned.

• His compassions never fail! Compassion is defined as:  sympathy, empathy, care, concern, love, tenderness, mercy, leniency, tolerance, kindness.

• They are new every morning! New is defined as: made fresh, as if for the first time.

•God demonstrates great faithfulness! Faithfulness is defined as: true, devoted, staunch, constant, loyal, with dependability, and devotion.

Your labor in the Lord is not in vain!

“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” (1 Cor. 15:58)

 Your labor in the Lord is not in vain!

Sometimes it can be tiring “doing the right thing,” especially when so many others around you are not. It's no longer popular to live according to God’s standards. But, you may be surprised to know that that is not a new problem. Elijah complained to the Lord, “I am the only one who has remained faithful!” (1 Kings 19:10). But, God told him that He was incorrect. He told him that 7,000 others also had remained faithful. That information must have been encouraging for Elijah to hear.

It's true! God has lots of faithful followers. You are not alone! So, be encouraged and don't quit!

At the proper time we will reap a harvest

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” (Gal. 6:9)

God supplies more than enough!

“For whoever has, to him more shall be given, and he will have an abundance.” (Matt. 13:12)

We serve a God who supplies more than enough! In fact, one verse says it is, “A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over!” (Luke 6:38)

God gives you the power to get wealth!

“And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth...” (Deut. 8:18)

Notice that this verse says it is God who gives you “power to get wealth.” He doesn't simply drop it to you out of the sky. You have a part in getting it.

 You must “remember the Lord your God”

Include God and put Him first in every part of the process. (Matt 6:33). Ask Him for wisdom and knowledge in order to know what you should do to get it (Matt 7:7). He will give you productive ideas, talents, personal skills, gifts, and opportunities, which will help you.

You must look for them, recognize them, develop them, and put them to work!

Keep in mind that, even though God does promise to supply all your needs (Phil. 4:19), it is usually disguised as work!

Wok hard with a good attitude as though you are working for the Lord!

After all, everything you need will come from Him!

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.” (Col. 3:23-24)

God is our refuge and strength

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1)

This verse tells us three important promises about God.

1) He is our refuge (a condition of being safe or sheltered from pursuit, danger, or trouble).

2) He isour strength (the quality or state of being strong, in particular).

3) He is our ever-present help in the time of trouble (assist, aid, lend a helping hand to, give assistance to, come to the aid of).

Forgive and then be forgiven

“For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.  But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” (Matt. 6:14-15)

 Two promises

This passage of scripture has two promises, one is positive and one is negative. The one you get depends totally on you. It has to do with forgiving others who have sinned against you. If you do forgive them your Heavenly Father will forgive you (positive), and if you do notforgive them, your Heavenly Father won't forgive you (negative). It's a very simple concept. Forgiveness is a choice you choose to make and non-forgiveness is a choice you choose to make. Choose wisely!

For a few days I am sharing “whosoever promises” that apply to anyone, and of course, this means you!

The same is Jesus's brother, sister, and mother

“For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother." (Matt. 12:50)
