JESUS: He gives you victory!
IMG_4578.JPG

“But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Cor. 15:57 NIV)

More than conquerors!

“Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” (Rom. 8:27 KJV)

God is for us!

“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Rom. 8:31 ESV)

God goes with you!

“For the Lord your God is he who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory.” (Deut. 20:4 ESV)

“He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.” (Col. 2:15 ESV)

He who is in you is greater!

“Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” (1 John 4:4 ESV)

So, no need to fear!

“So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?” (Heb. 13:6 ESV)

JESUS: He meets all your needs!
IMG_4578.JPG

“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 4:19 NIV)

Like the birds of the air

“Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?” (Matt. 6:26 NAS)

All sufficiency in all things

“And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.” (2 Cor. 9:8 ESV)

Let your requests be known to God

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” (Phil. 6 ESV)

JESUS: The peace that passes all understanding is from Him!
IMG_4578.JPG

“And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 4:7 ESV)

Peace is a fruit of the Spirit

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.” (Gal. 5:22 NIV)

Different types of peace

There are different types of peace, including false peace, inner peace, peace with God and peace with man. Various forms of the word peace are found 429 times in the King James Version of he Bible. Peace can be defined as tranquility, harmony, or security. Depending on the situation, it could mean prosperity or well-being.

The Bible’s definition of Peace

The biblical concept of peace means "to be complete" or "to be sound." to be complete or whole" or "to live well. (Bible Dictionary)

Peace is a gift from God (Isaiah 45:7; Leviticus 26:6; John 14:27). The presence of peace indicates God's blessing on man's obedience (Isaiah 32:17; Malachi 2:5) and faith (Isaiah 26:3). There is no peace for the wicked (Isaiah 48:22).

Jesus gives peace

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Let peace rule your heart!

“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.” (Col. 3:15 NIV)

JESUS: Frees you from the power of fear!
IMG_4578.JPG

“But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid.” (Matt. 14:27 ESV)

Fear grips many people today!

Fear stops and even paralyzes some people, but it must not be allowed to happen! The Bible tells us not to fear 365 times, one for each day of the year! And, just about every place in the Bible where an Angel appears, he says, “fear not”. Angels, of course, are messengers of God. God would never command us to do anything we are not able to do. And, anything He commands us to do, He will help us (empower us) to do! Fear is something we can learn to control. The way to think about fear is through this simple acrostic: FEAR – False Evidence Appearing Real. Basically, fear is an attack from the devil, and is nothing but lies from the pit to intimidate and stop us. But, God has given us everything we need to stop fear in its evil tracks!

Some Scriptures to lean on

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” (2 Tim. 1:7 NIV)

“Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. “ (1 Peter 5:7 ESV)

“I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.” (Psalm 34:4 NIV)

“But now, this is what the Lord says…Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.” (Isaiah 43:1 NIV)

“The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? The Lord is with me; he is my helper.” (Psalm 118:6-7 NIV)

JESUS: All God’s promises are “yes” in His Name!
IMG_4578.JPG

“For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory.” (2 Cor. 1:29 ESV)

Through His promises you can be partakers

“By which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.” (2 Pet. 1:4 ESV)

Through the righteousness of faith!

“For the promise to Abraham and his offspring that he would be heir of the world did not come through the law but through the righteousness of faith.” (Rom. 4:13 ESV)“Now the promises were made to Abraham and to his offspring. It does not say, “And to offsprings,” referring to many, but referring to one, “And to your offspring,” who is Christ.” (Gal. 3:16 ESV)

God does what He promises!

“Fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised.” (Rom. 4:21 ESV)

“I will not violate my covenant or alter the Word that went fourth from my lips.” (Psalm 89:34 ESV)

He is not slow to fulfill them

“The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9 ESV)

JESUS: Call on His Name to be saved
IMG_4578.JPG

"For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Rom. 19:13 ESV)

“And now why do you wait? Rise and be baptized and wash away your sins, calling on his name.’” (Acts 22:16 ESV)

Forgiveness of sins

“To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.” (Acts 10:23 ESV)

Not condemned

“Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.” (John 3:18 ESV)

JESUS: In His Name you are justified!
IMG_4578.JPG

“And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.” (1 Cor. 6:11 ESV)

Made righteous as though you had never sinned!

The Word justified means to be declared righteous, to be made right with God. Justification is God declaring those who receive Christ to be made righteous based on Christ’s righteousness being imputed to the accounts of those who receive Christ. I like how one person described it, justified means just as if I'd never sinned!

A gift from Jesus to you

“And are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.” (Rom. 3:24 ESV)

“Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Rom. 5:1 ESV)

Paid for by His blood

“Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.” (Rom. 5:9 ESV)

Not by works but by faith in Jesus

“Yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.” (Gal. 2:16 ESV)

JESUS: There is assurance in His Name!
IMG_4578.JPG

“And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.” (1 John 5:11-13 NASB)

You can know for certain!

Jesus died on the cross for your salvation and you do not have to doubt it! Its wonderful to be able to know for certain you are saved! In fact, Jesus wants you to have complete assurance!

Jesus spoke about assurance to Martha after her brother Lazarus died

“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”  (John 11:25-26 NIV)

No one can snatch you away from Jesus!

“I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.” (John 10:28-29 NIV)

Jesus gives amazing promises for complete assurance

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Rom. 8:38-39 NIV)

“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.” (John 5:24 NASB)

“All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up at the last day.  (John 6:37-39 NIV)

JESUS: Whatever you ask in His Name He will do!
IMG_4578.JPG

“And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it, If you love Me, keep My commandments.”  (John 14:13-15 NKJV)

A promise with a condition

This is an amazing promise because it states clearly that Jesus will do “anything you ask” in His Name. But, take note, there is a condition to this promise that must be met, which states, “If you love me and keep my commandments.” Therefore, if you love Jesus and you are keeping His commandments, that would effect what you are praying about. You would most likely be praying about things that are in line with His will, so  “that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” This is the stated purpose found within this promise.
