Don’t be greedy

Everything comes from God

God richly provides

“Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.” (1 Tim. 6:17 NIV)

Insight is better than silver and gold

“How much better to get wisdom than gold, to get insight rather than silver!” (Prov. 16:16 NIV)

The Lord’s blessing brings wealth

Honor the Lord with your wealth

“Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops.” (Prov. 3:9 NIV) 

Gather money little by little

“Dishonest money dwindles away, but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow. (Prov. 13:11 NIV)

Better is a little with the fear of the Lord

“Better a little with the fear of the Lord than great wealth with turmoil.” Prov. 15:16 NIV)

“Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income. This too is meaningless.” (Eccles. 5:10 NIV)

We do need money to pay bills and to purchase things we need, but, money is only a tool to use and should never be a thing to covet after or love. The Bible warns that the “love of money is the root of all evil.” Notice it doesn’t say that money is the root of all evil, but it is the love of it that is the root of all evil. In fact, loving money can be very dangerous. It could lead you to err from your faith and into many serious problems and sorrows.

Don’t Love or covet money

“Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” (Heb. 13:5 NIV)

The Love of money is the root of all evil

“For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” (2 Tim. 6:10 KJV)

Don’t wear yourself out getting rich

“Do not wear yourself out to get rich; do not trust your own cleverness.” (Prov. 23:4 NIV)

The get rich trap to avoid

“Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.” (2 Tim. 6:9 NIV)

“Who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began.” (2 Tim. 1:9 ESV)

The only Son from the Father, full of GRACE and truth

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14 ESV)

Grow in GRACE

“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.” (2 Peter 3:18 ESV)

Excel in the act of GRACE

“But as you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all earnestness, and in our love for you—see that you excel in this act of grace also.” (2 Cor. 8:7 ESV)

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.” (Titus 2:11-14 ESV)

GRACE as a gift through Christ Jesus

“And are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.” (Rom. 3:24 ESV)

Strengthened by GRACE

“You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus.” (2 Tim. 2:1 ESV)

Made alive together with Christ through GRACE

“But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved.” (Eph. 2:4-5 ESV)

GRACE be with you

“The Lord be with your spirit. Grace be with you.” (2 Tim. 4:22 ESV).

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.” (Eph. 2:8 NIV)

You are what you are by GRACE

“But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me.” (1 Cor. 15:10 ESV)

Draw near to the throne of GRACE

“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Heb. 4:16 ESV)

We have received grace upon GRACE

“And from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.” (John 1:16 ESV)

Justified by GRACE

“For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.” (Rom. :20-24 ESV)

“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” (2 Cor. 12:9 ESV)

You have been saved by GRACE

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” (Eph. 2:8-9 ESV)

You are not under law but under GRACE

“For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.” (Rom. 6:14 ESV)

It is by GRACE not works

“But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace.” (Rom. 11:6 ESV)

God gives more GRACE

“But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” (James 4:6 ESV)

“Do everything in love.” (2 Cor. 16:14 NIV)

LOVE is patient and kind

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.” (1 Cor. 13:4-5 NIV)

Unfailing LOVE

“Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.” (Psalm 143:8 NIV)

Let LOVE never leave you

“Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.” (Prov. 3:3-4 NIV)

“If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?” (1 John 4:17 NIV)

Abounding in LOVE

“Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity.” (Joel 2:12 NIV)

LOVE poured into our hearts

“And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” (Rom. 5:5 NIV)

Faith expressed through LOVE

The God of LOVE and peace be with you
