Today’s Promise to Memorize*

“Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'” (John 14:6)

There is only one way to God

The devil deceives the world by telling them there are many ways to reach God, which is a lie, because the Bible teaches clearly that Jesus is the only way. There is salvation in no one else! Jesus is the only mediator between God and men.

Additional References

“And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)

“For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” (1 Tim. 2:5).

“In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” (2 Cor. 4:4)

You will abound in every good work
IMG_3196.png

Today’s Promise to Memorize*

“And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” (2 Cor. 9:8)

God is able!

It’s important to understand that we serve a God who is “able”. Nothing is too difficult or impossible for Him! (Luke 1:37). In fact, He is “able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think” (Eph. 3:20). And according today’s memory verse, “He is able to bless you abundantly”. What does “abundantly” mean? According to the dictionary it means: amply, copiously, healthily, plentifully appreciably, noticeably, significantly astronomically, big-time, broadly, colossally, considerably, enormously, extensively, greatly, highly, hugely, largely, massively, monstrously, monumentally, much, sizably, staggeringly, stupendously, tremendously, utterly, vastly.

Wow! So why would God want to bless you like that? He gives the answer in the second part of the passage: “so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” God blesses you to be greatly equipped to do “every good work”. In other words,  God has created you for a wonderful purpose to walk in because you are His model of good works!

Additional References

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” (Eph. 2:10 ESV)

“Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity,” (Titus 2:7 ESV)
