When You Doubt Your Self-Worth
“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.” (Psalms 139:13-15 ESV)
God made you and you are very valuable to Him!
You are not an accident or a mistake. He created you in His own image, and even the hairs on your head are numbered. He has wonderful plans for your life and will bring to completion the good work He began in you.
Remember that you are chosen, a royal priesthood, holy and blameless before Him.
When doubts creep in, turn to these truths from Scripture
• “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” (Genesis 1:27 ESV)
• “Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God. Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.” (Luke 12:6-7 ESV)
• “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11 ESV)
• “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10 ESV)
• “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 1:6 ESV)
• “Even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love.” (Ephesians 1:4 ESV)
• “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” (1 Peter 2:9 ESV)
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for creating me fearfully and wonderfully. When I doubt my worth, remind me of Your love and the value You place on me. Help me to walk in the good works You have prepared for me and to proclaim Your excellencies. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
