God Puts a New Song in Your Mouth

“He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the LORD and put their trust in him.” (Psalm 40:3)

When God saves us, He puts a new song in us. Where there was once fear, guilt, or bitterness, He puts praise. Where there was once worry in the night, He puts worship.

The Bible says:

“By day the LORD directs his love, at night his song is with me—a prayer to the God of my life.” (Psalm 42:8)

That means God’s song is not just for Sundays. It’s for daytime work and nighttime worries. It’s for the shop, the road, the office, and the quiet hours when no one else sees.

When God changes your heart, praise becomes your new language:

“I will sing to the LORD all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.” (Psalm 104:33)

And it’s not just outward singing—it’s inward music:

“Speak to one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your hearts to the Lord.” (Ephesians 5:19)

Therefore

Even when circumstances are hard, choose to let praise be your default sound. Let your heart stay tuned to Him—so others can hear the difference and be drawn to trust the Lord.

“Sing to God, sing praises to His name; lift up a song for Him who rides through the deserts, whose name is the LORD, and exult before Him.” (Psalm 68:4)
