Covered with a Shield of Favor

“For you bless the righteous, O Lord; you cover him with favor as with a shield.” (Psalm 5:12)

Picture a soldier standing in battle with a massive shield protecting him from every arrow. That’s what God’s favor is like for you—an unseen covering of grace that surrounds you wherever you go.

What it Means

God’s favor isn’t earned—it’s freely given. His kindness and mercy protect you, guide you, and open doors that you could never force open on your own.

“The Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those who walk uprightly.” (Psalm 84:11)

“Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands.” (Psalm 90:17)

Therefore

Walk confidently today—God’s favor is your shield, and His hand will guide you like a spring of water that never runs dry (Isa. 58:11).
