“For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.” (Heb. 4:12 NLT)

Promises of God are faith activated

Transforming your mind is the process of bringing your thoughts in line with God’s thoughts (2 Cor. 10:5). You do this by personalizing Bible promises, mixing faith with them and confessing them as yours. (Heb. 4:2)

All the promises of God are “yes and amen” (2 Cor 1:20)

  • I possess salvation — I confess Jesus as my Lord

“…if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.” (Rom. 10:9-10 NASB)

Renewing your mind

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.” (Rom. 12:2 NIV)

How to control your thoughts

Personalizing and confessing God’s Word in prayer is a powerful way to control your thoughts and “renew your mind”. The following is part of what I confess daily. All these statements are taken from God’s promises in the Bible. I have personalized them and say them by faith. At the end of the list are the verses they come from.

My daily positive confession

• "I am God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus, to do good works which He has prepared in advance for me to do."

• "Greater things I will do because Jesus has gone to the Father."

• “All that I am and all that I do is from Him.”

• “I stand with firm confidence on His promises!”

• "I can do all things through Christ Jesus which strengthens me!”

• “My blessings are a good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over and poured into my lap.”

• “Through faith, I believe that God is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him, and I know Biblically that this is what pleases Him. Amen.”

(Eph. 2:10; John 14:12; Phil. 4:19; 2 Cor. 2:20: Phil. 4:13; Luke 6:38; Heb. 11:6)
