God will renew your strength when you wait on Him
IMG_3170.jpeg

Today’s Promise to Memorize

“But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” (Isa. 40:31 ESV)

This is another promise with two parts to it: 1) “they who wait on the Lord”, and 2) “for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

It’s not easy to wait, especially when you’re so used to having instant everything as we do in modern life. But, if you want the described results which God promises, you must wait for it with faith!

God will give you perfect peace
IMG_3169.png

Today’s Promise to Memorize*

“You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.” (Isa. 26:3 NKJV)

Two parts

This promise has two parts: 1) God promises to keep you in perfect peace, and 2) Because you trust in Him. You must trust in God if you want to be kept in perfect peace by Him. In Matthew 14:29-32, we read about Peter stepping out of the boat in a storm and walking on water towards Jesus. As long as he had his eyes on Jesus in complete trust he was fine. But he saw the wind, became afraid, took his eyes off Jesus, and began to sink. Jesus then said to him, “You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?"

Webster’s dictionary defines peace as “freedom from disquieting or oppressive thoughts or emotions”

It’s hard to have peace when scary things happen to you or when you are bombarded by fearful world events coming at you from news sources. According to today’s promise above, the key to having perfect peace is to keep your mind stayed on God. That may require turning off the news (stop filling your head with fearful, negative, input) and instead, fill your mind with encouraging promises from God’s Word.

The following passage says, “Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid”, because Jesus has given you His peace. That’s another promise you can claim personally (make it yours), apply to your situation, mix your faith with it (believe God for it, no matter how things may look), and then, think deeply about it (mediate on it).

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” (John 14:27 ESV)

Additional References

“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33 ESV)

“Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all.” (2 Thess. 3:16 ESV)

“And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 4:7)

God is your stronghold in the day of trouble

Today’s Promise to Memorize*

“The LORD is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble; And He knows those who trust in Him.” (Nahum 1:7 NKJV)

This above passage has three promises in it: 1) God is good, 2) God is a stronghold in the day of trouble, and 3), God knows those who trust Him.

Nothing can succeed against the Lord!
IMG_3165.jpeg

Today’s Promise to Memorize*

“There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the LORD.” (Prov. 21:30 NIV)

The leaders in the U.S. House of Representatives kicked off the new 2021 Congress by banning gendered words like mother, father, brother and sister. This means you cannot now say, “Our Father, Who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name.” This is not only an assault  on science and the family, it’s an assault against God.

The spirit of Antichrist

The Bible warns us that the spirit of antichrist is in the world (2 John 1:7) and is active through many deceivers blinding the minds of unbelievers and keeping them from seeing “the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ” (2 Cor. 4:4). It is “the father of lies” (John 8:44). The spirit of the antichrist is “the great dragon . . . who leads the whole world astray” (Rev. 12:9). But, the good news is clearly expressed in the above promise which says, “There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the LORD.” And even an act of Congress cannot change that marvelous truth!

God shall supply your every need
IMG_3164.jpeg

Today’s Promise to Memorize*

And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. ” (Phil. 4:19 NKJV)

I really love this wonderful promise and I  meditate on it and recite it a lot for needs of every description.  It’s the promise that covers every need large or small. I love that it says God will supply every need “according to His riches in glory” and not according to anything here on earth, such as according to the prime lending rate, for instance. His standard is totally limitless! And it’s supplied “by Christ Jesus”. Now that’s something to greatly rejoice about!

Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” (Matt 6:25-26 ESV)

“That according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” (Eph. 3:16-19 EDV)

Both a command and a promise

The above passage is both a command and a promise. The commandBe strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed. And, The Promisefor the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

Become partakers of God’s promises
IMG_3158.jpeg

“For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.  (2 Peter 1:4 ESV)

There are literally thousands of promises in the Bible which God has placed there to cover every possible need, whether it be physical, mental, social or spiritual. God has provided them to help you share in His divine nature and to escape the worldly corruption present everywhere.

They are “yes and amen”

These promises are all pre-approved by Jesus and ready for you to use.

“For as many as are the promises of God, in Him they are yes; therefore also through Him is our Amen to the glory of God through us.” (2 Cor. 1:20 NASB)

When known, applied, and mixed with faith

Most Christians can’t quote even three of the thousands of promises for them in the Bible! This is sad because in order for God’s promises to work for anyone, they must be…

1)    Known – If you don’t know them, you can’t benefit from them.

2)    Applied – If you don’t apply them, they can’t work. Use them or lose them!

3)    Mixed with faith – if you believe them they will work. If you don’t believe them they won’t! They are all faith activated!

Therefore

Over the next (undetermined) number of days I will be posting Bible promises that I believe every believer MUST know and have committed to memory in order to be fully equipped with what is needed to live and survive in this world, no matter what they are faced with. I will post one a day. Hopefully, this will give you a chance to meditate on them and to memorize them.

“My son, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Let them not escape from your sight; keep them within your heart. For they are life to those who find them, and healing to all their flesh.” (Prov. 4:20-22 ESV)
