Trust in the Lord and Be Blessed
“Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers, and blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord.” (Prov. 16:20 NIV)
Trust means having an assured reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone. In other words, when we trust the Lord, we are placing our confidence in who He is, what He has said, and what He is able to do.
That kind of trust brings blessing
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.
They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” (Jer. 17:7-8 NIV)
A tree planted by water does not have to panic when the heat comes. Its roots are already connected to the source it needs. In the same way, when our confidence is in the Lord, we do not have to live controlled by fear, worry, or circumstances. Our strength comes from Him.
Charles Swindoll said, “We must cease striving and trust God to provide what He thinks is best and in whatever time He chooses to make it available. But this kind of trusting doesn’t come naturally. It’s a spiritual crisis of the will in which we must choose to exercise faith.”
Trusting God is a daily choice
It means doing what is right, following His instruction, and believing He will take care of the results.
Therefore
Trust the Lord today—not only with your words, but with your decisions, your worries, your timing, and your future. Put your roots down deep in Him, and He will sustain you through every season.
“Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.” (Psalm 37:3 NIV)
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” (Prov. 3:5-6 NIV)
